The Nuclear Workers Advocacy & Resource Center (NWARC) exists to ensure that nuclear and energy workers—and their families—receive the compensation and medical benefits they have earned under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA).
We provide free, expert authorized representation, education, and community support so that no worker is left to navigate the complex federal claims process alone.
We honor the service of those who worked in our nation’s nuclear and energy programs by standing with them when they need help most.
NWARC is based in Southern Ohio and provides free help to nuclear and energy workers nationwide.
All of our core services are provided at no cost to eligible workers and families.
We serve as Authorized Representatives under the EEOICPA, assisting with claims filing, evidence development, medical documentation, appeals, and ongoing case management with the Department of Labor.
We educate workers, families, medical providers, and community partners about EEOICPA rights, eligibility, covered conditions, medical benefits, and the claims process.
We coordinate practical support—including volunteer assistance with home and yard maintenance—for workers dealing with illness and disability so they can remain safer and more comfortable at home.
We help workers understand their options, avoid common pitfalls, respond to DOL requests, and pursue the full compensation and medical benefits they are entitled to under federal law.

Yes. NWARC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All authorized representation, education, and support services we provide to eligible nuclear and energy workers and their families are free of charge. We never charge claimants fees or take a percentage of benefits.
The Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) is a federal program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor. It provides compensation and medical benefits to certain Department of Energy employees, contractors, and uranium workers (and eligible survivors) who developed illnesses related to occupational exposure to radiation or toxic substances.
Although we are based in Ohio, we assist nuclear and energy workers and their families nationwide. Much of our work is handled remotely by phone, email, and secure document exchange.
A short description of the worker’s employment history (facility or company and approximate years), the medical conditions involved, and whether a claim has already been filed is helpful. We will guide you on next steps and any documents needed.
